AND CARE CENTERS
WHY OFFER A LIFE STORY CLUB AT YOUR COMMUNITY?
BUILD REAL SOCIAL CONNECTIONS.
Research has shown that life storytelling helps older adults build a connection to their community. They feel listened to, nurtured, and valued. Storytelling groups help seniors open up and share with others, combatting the detrimental health effects of loneliness and isolation.
CULTURALLY AND TECHNOLOGICALLY ACCESSIBLE.
We currently offer our programming in English and Spanish. Stay tuned for programs in Mandarin, Russian, and Korean!
We also serve homebound seniors and those with limited access to computer/internet services. Reach out to us to learn more about our “Patch-In” Service, where participants can opt to receive a phone call from our Club facilitator and be merged directly into a Club meeting.
Our Clubs stand out because they are both culturally and technologically accessible. We currently offer our programming in English and Spanish. Stay tuned for programs in Mandarin, Russian, and Korean!
Our Clubs also serve homebound seniors as well as those with limited access to computer/internet services. Reach out to us learn more about our phone-based offering and our “patch-in” operator service that enables us to call merge participants directly into Club meetings.
COMMUNITY CHAPBOOK PUBLICATIONS
Storytellers come together to create a Community Chapbook, a printed collection of life stories. Chapbooks are available for print for each storyteller, their loved ones, and for the broader community!
STORYTELLING SHOWCASE EVENTS
Communities and care centers can partner with the Life Story Club to host Storytelling Showcase Events. In our events, we a line-up of Club members perform a short life story reading for the larger community to enjoy. It’s a great way to honor the contributions of older adults, showcase the diversity and vibrancy of your community, and to leverage these events to grow your community!
