To me, the most wondrous thing that I see every spring: the flowers come back! Every year, I think it’s totally incredible to see these flowers and these dead things in the backyard. Seeing what made it through, to me, is the most wonderful thing in nature.

I mostly plant what will come back on its own the next year. The things that are happy there will come back and if they’re not, they don’t.
