I didn’t get in trouble with anything. I was a good kid.

I was never spanked. My father never spanked us. That wasn’t his way of doing things. I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. I was six when I moved there from New York where I was born.

I didn’t play as a kid. I read. I was a reader. My father got upset because I was reading the same book more than once. So, I think he did something with the book. He took it away from me. I’d get the books from the library.
